To celebrate the return of Major League baseball to the Southwest and near-Southeast community, the Nationals are inviting local residents out to Neighborhood Night at Nationals Park on Thursday, April 19, at 7:05 p.m.
The team will honor the vibrant spirit of the neighborhood by featuring local residents in various pregame activities, including throwing out the first pitch, delivering the lineup card and greeting the players as they take their positions on the field.
“We’re excited to kick off the start of the 2012 season by welcoming local residents back to Nationals Park for Neighborhood Night,” Nationals Director of Community Relations Israel Negron said.
As part of their commitment to engaging the neighborhood surrounding Nationals Park, the team supports community-based programs and provides opportunities for local youth throughout the year, all in an effort to further strengthen the connection between the team and the community.
Discount tickets for Southwest residents
The Nationals will once again offer a special discount to local residents for all games throughout the 2012 season. Fans in the Southwest and near-Southeast community can visit www.nationals.com to purchase tickets and enter the coupon code SOUTHWEST when prompted to receive a discount on tickets. Starting at just $7, tickets will be available at various price points in seating areas across the ballpark.
A big thank you to the Nationals for the courtesy to Southwest neighbors. I will attend more games this year.
