Candidate for District 1
Katelynd Mahoney has lived in SWDC since summer of 2011- and has loved every moment of it. A NH native, she moved to DC in the fall of 2007 to attend college, and has never looked back. Prior to living in SW she resided in Brookland for 4 years. Katelynd works on the fundraising team for a non-profit in DC. She is currently serving in the capacity of Treasurer on the Board of the Tenant’s Association at the View at Waterfront, and hopes to bring her leadership and financial experience to that of the larger SWDC community. Katelynd would like to continue to ensure the residents of SWDC are a part of an involved and active community, including many of the no-cost activities that are currently offered, such as jazz, computer literacy, and the many youth programs. Most importantly, she is cautiously excited for the new developments, and understands the need for and desire of the history of the neighborhood is preserved. Katelynd looks forward to working with and advocating for the residents of SWDC, as well all work to continuously contribute to our great community.
