In late April, Hoffman & Associates, the primary initial developer of The Wharf, announced a transaction transferring ownership to its longtime equity partner, Canadian pension investment manager Public Sector Pension Investment Board.

“Since 2006, we’ve led The Wharf’s transformation from vision to reality, creating a dynamic, world-class neighborhood that includes everything from concert venues and homes to restaurants, parks, piers, and unparalleled waterfront access,” said Monty Hoffman, Founder & Chairman of Hoffman & Associates. “After nearly 20 years of building and leading this incredible development, The Wharf is now a thriving community and globally recognized destination. Every project we undertake follows a strategic hold plan, and for The Wharf, the time has come for a change in our role. We have full confidence in our partner to carry forward our shared vision for The Wharf as we continue expanding communities across the DMV and beyond.”

In addition to focusing on other developments in Virginia and North Carolina, Hoffman & Associates will continue their work in Southwest DC by developing Parcel B at Audi Field. Plans for the $200 million mixed-use development on Buzzard Point include two residential buildings with 455 apartment units, including a 110-unit affordable senior housing building. Additional space includes 38,000 square feet of office space, 49,000 square feet of retail, and a one-acre public park.
