For the third year in a row, St. Dominic Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus gave away new coats to school-aged children in the Washington area. St. Dominic’s parishioners raised $2715, which paid for 144 new, good quality coats through the Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids program. Last year, the Knights of Columbus donated more than 32,500 coats to children in need throughout the United States and Canada.
St. Dominic Church, which is located at 630 E Street, SW, gave 60 coats directly to school-aged children in Southwest DC. The remainder of the coats have been donated to other organizations serving the community, including Amidon Elementary School, Jefferson Middle School, Holy Name Church, and St. Vincent de Paul parish.
