Near Southeast Community Partners (NSCP) and our partner Nando’s Peri-Peri in Yards Park hosted our third annual Teacher Appreciation Dinner on Feb. 4, 2016.
This year, NSCP featured teachers from Amidon-Bowen Elementary (our Adopt-a-School Partner) and Van Ness Elementary, which re-opened this school year. Thirty-five teachers, along with Principal Izabela Miller and Head of School Cynthia Rivers-Robinson, enjoyed a family style dinner and drinks. Our friends at Edgewood Brookland Collaborative provided dessert. NSCP works closely with the Amidon PTA to help make these events a success.
Teacher Appreciation was started three years ago as a way to thank these dedicated people for their hard work to give their students the best education possible. Ward 6 Councilmember Charles Allen and his family joined us for dinner again this year and also thanked the teachers for all that they do for the kids. It was great to see everyone mingle, eat some great food and enjoy the evening.
Look for our forth-annual event next February.
