Music, lively conversation, and laughter were in the air at the 2016 Jefferson Academy (JA) Winter Extravaganza attended by at least 100 families! An early evening event, the extravaganza featured a winter student showcase. The JA School Band performed, exemplary student projects were displayed, and science fair entries were revealed. JA partners engaged parents and students to elicit the participation of students in activities that included Gearin’ Up Bicycles, a program partner; a Tech Bridge STEM activity for girls also engaged student and parents.
“Our Winter Extravaganza was a fantastic event that showcased two of Jefferson’s greatest strengths: engaging families and having fun! The event was truly a team effort put on by Jefferson staff members, our fantastic PTO, and our inspiring students” said Principal Greg Dohmann. “Students had the opportunity to showcase their incredible work for their families; then we came together as a community to enjoy a delicious holiday dinner. The event made me proud to be a member of the JA community and a resident of Southwest DC!”
JA families, staff, and partners look forward to an amazing 2017!
