The Wharf hosted eleven Clipper 70 ocean racing yachts from June 17-25, with over 200 rac-
ing crew resting before the final leg of their eight stage journey circumnavigating the globe,
a race of 40,000 nautical miles through the world’s toughest oceans. One of the Clippers,
nicknamed “Little Washy” represented Washington, DC and was sponsored by Events DC. Its
Skipper, Hannah Brewis, 26, is from the UK. She was invited to toss the Ceremonial Pitch at
