Julian Tait, a parishioner at Southwest’s St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church, 600 M St SW, stands next to the newly installed clothing donations bin on St. Augustine’s property, across from the church’s sign. Tait is the church’s
representative to Samaritan Ministry of Greater Washington and he also sits on its board of directors.
The MetroAid program has partnered with the Samaritan Ministry of Greater Washington to maintain a clothing bin for donations of gently used clothing, shoes, purses, bags, belts, stuffed toys, and linens. MetroAid will sell the clothes with part of the proceeds going to Samaritan Ministry, which supports people who are homeless, unemployed, or otherwise in need, and helps them organize their lives to become employed, find housing, and obtain necessary education. Some of the donated clothes and accessories will be delivered to Samaritan Ministry’s clothing closets. To obtain a tax receipt/in-kind donation form for clothing deposited into Samaritan Ministry donation bins, visit www.samaritanministry. org or contact the main office at 202-722-2280.
