Two world-renowned DC artists, Sharon Farmer and Joyce Wellman, are currently exhibiting their work at Westminster Presbyterian Church at 400 I St. SW as part of a special remembrance for Southwest resident, neighbor, and friend to many, David Lee Plummer, who passed away suddenly on Aug. 27.

On Sunday, Oct. 26 at 1:30pm, a special reception will be held with the artists on hand, discussing their work and sharing their appreciation for life, beauty, and creativity shared by our friend, David. Sharon Farmer served as director of the White House Photography Office from 1999 to 2001 but served in the office from 1993, documenting the Clinton-Gore Administration from its beginning. She continues to practice her art; her work is shown widely locally and nationally. Joyce Wellman is an abstract expressionist who works in a variety of media. Originally from New York City, she has lived and worked in D C for over thirty years and continually expands her perspective on her life and work. Joyce uses text, typography, geometry, and mathematics within a contemplative space to reference the subconscious and to express the spiritual in art.
