Aya Community Markets, a farmers market and holistic health experience, will operate from the grounds of Christ United Methodist Church (901 4th Street SW) every Saturday from 9am-1pm. The market was founded and managed by Dreaming Out Loud, a nonprofit working throughout DC, and features produce from Crazy Farm, a family-owned farm from Colonial Beach, Virginia. The market is great place for fresh, local produce and building community. One way the market is supporting the Southwest community is through DC’s Produce Plus Program, a key incentive program helping WIC, SNAP, Medicare, Medicaid, TANF, Senior Farmers Market Vouchers, and other benefit recipients to afford fresh, local produce at farmers markets.

Aya Community Markets is also a platform for youth development, supporting the Might Greens Youth Cooperative, a youth business that grows herbs and vegetables at the garden at Blind Whino for sale at the market. Please come out on Saturdays to support this great initiative!
