An Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) youth team from DC called DC STORM has returned from a successful trip to an East Coast AAU basketball tournament in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

The team was put together as a mentor and life skills program by Coach Jay Shorter, Tyrone Jones, and Coach Ronald Hines to teach the skills needed to play basketball on the AAU level.

The players came to practice at Jefferson Academy every day and worked hard to become a pretty good team.

The coaching staff took 12 young men to the basketball tournament (called Beach Xplosion) on June 27, 2015 and stopped at Busch Gardens on the way back.
