The Mandarin Oriental, Washington DC, located at 330 Maryland Ave. SW, has selected Jefferson Academy as the beneficiary of the hotel’s seventh Annual FANtastic March 5K Fundraiser. On Sunday, Nov. 5, hotel colleagues and guests will set off for a run/walk around the National Mall, ending back at the hotel.

This year’s fundraising efforts will go toward the purchase of additional in-class technology and much needed building improvements. In 2016, the hotel’s charitable efforts raised more than $40,000 to provide laptops and computer carts to Amidon-Bowen Elementary School.

“With the renewed interest in Southwest DC, it is more important than ever to make sure our local schools rise with the tide,” said General Manager Adriaan Radder. “To ensure the children of our Southwest DC neighborhood receive the best possible education, we have focused this year’s fundraising efforts to Jefferson Middle School Academy, as well as donating our time through career day and school enhancement programs.”

This year’s FANtastic March will begin at 9 a.m. on the hotel’s front drive and loop around the National Mall before returning to the hotel for a celebratory breakfast and silent auction at approximately 11 a.m.

The fee to participate in the walk is $45 per person and includes pre-race snacks, stretching session, event T-shirt, and post-race breakfast. For more information, please visit the event’s donation website at: https://www.razoo.com/story/Mandarin5k.
