By Southwest Business Improvement District Staff
Southwest DC is “the place to be” and the SW Business Improvement District (SWBID) is a big part of that reputation. We continue to spotlight the dedicated staff of the SWBID who are focused on making Southwest a clean, safe, vibrant community to live, work, and visit.
Haji Mtambo came to SWBID early 2021. As an ambassador, Haji connects daily with residents and visitors. This is a new experience for him. His past jobs were inside offices but now his “office” is outside where he connects with people of all ages, providing directions and talking about the neighborhood. He is also proud to be a part of the food distribution team. Helping people daily is a new experience which he is very proud of. Haji says he is a quiet person and a good listener, which helps him learn from his colleagues and the community.
“Haji came to the BID as a contractor in March of 2021, and I am proud to announce that as of January 1, 2022, he is a full-time employee with benefits,” said SWBID Chief Operating Officer Andre Witt. “Haji has exceptional leadership skills and has truly helped to make the BID environment a better place. He brings with him vital skill sets that have been a real attribute as it relates to SWBID operations. We are very fortunate to have him.”
