On January 15, the first new residents moved into a six acre community called The Stacks, a brand-new development in Buzzard Point. Built by Akridge and National Real Estate Development, the first phase of the project will include 40,000 square feet across all three residential buildings. An on-site resident market is set to open in mid-2025, along with a new Capital Bikeshare station.

“The Stacks was meticulously crafted by a curated team of architects and designers to honor Buzzard Point’s rich history while embracing its future,” said Katie Hartley, Director of Development at National Development.

When fully completed,, The Stacks will feature two million square feet of mixed-use space, including apartments, retail, hotel, office, open space, shops and restaurants. A pedestrian-only street will run through the development, which will include public plazas and community spaces.
