Candidate for President
Bruce Levine and his wife Sharron moved to Tiber Island Condominium in 2013 and could not be happier with their move. Southwest attracted them for multiple reasons, including the dynamism, diversity, and physical attractiveness that they felt and saw as they walked around the community.
Southwest DC is a unique place and one of the reasons why Bruce became involved with SWNA was to help fulfill the organization’s mission of enhancing the quality of life for all residents. He has enjoyed his short time as president and wants to continue because he believes there are enormous opportunities and challenges here and his background equips him to have an impact.
Bruce is a faculty member at the Drexel University School of Education, leading the Education Policy Program. He is an attorney, but most of his career has been spent in strategy consulting. Bruce has been heavily involved in economic and workforce development as well as serving as an executive with two start-up companies. He has also led several non-profit boards. If elected, Bruce plan to ensure that SWNA enhances its role as a convener and partner of the various interest groups and stakeholders in Southwest, as a hub and information source for community activities and interests, and as an active problem solver through its task forces.
